Shelley Nicole Christians, founder and creative director of Optimal Entertainment, has many years of experience in the entertainment, dramatic and performing arts industry. She fell in love with the stage at age 4 after starring in her pre-school play and moved on to become a classically trained ballet dancer at the International School of Dance. She then moved on to train in other styles of dance to further feed her need for versatility, growth, knowledge and experience.

After being taught and trained by some of the best and most diverse names in the business locally and internationally, she is now well rounded enough and able to give her insights to any artistic request or brief given to her in the entertainment, arts and production industry.

With her qualification in dramatic and performing arts – she is passionate about giving the best creative influence and direction to make sure that a brand or clients vision becomes a reality and is shown in whatever she produces or is involved with. She thrives on being able to give back to the community and provide the youth and artists of all colours with a platform to shine and grow their talents while also being able to test her creative ability and share the things she has been blessed enough to learn along her journey and career.

Along with participating, competing and even judging some of the most prestigious events, shows and competitions all over the world, gracing the pages of many magazines and publications, and not to forget – the small AND big screen, she has an extensive dance and television portfolio with some impressive milestones under her belt that gives her the ultimate edge when she is involved in front and behind the camera. This aspect has seen her produce shows and manage entertainment for some of the biggest brands, names and VIP clients, both locally and internationally for the past 13 years.
Her performing and acting journey has been quite an exciting ride for the past 15 years, with a few highlights like being a finalist on “SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE” in 2010, winning Jo-Ann Strauss’s Presenter search in 2013, being a finalist in the Top Billing “Search on 3”, doing her own exciting stunts and fight scenes in many of the movies and series that she’s been involved with, being the face of numerous international brands over the years of her career, being the lead in many major commercials and music videos as well as starring in a few major mainstream movies and tv series.

As a Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) diagnosed warrior – as well as a firm believer in female empowerment, she also runs heels and fitness classes for women of all shapes, sizes and dance levels – encouraging body positivity and self-love at any age.

Shelley also has a strong business mindset with massive goals and dreams, and prides herself on being a confident, kind, ambitious go-getter who is hard working, vivacious, reliable, tenacious, passionate and most importantly – determined to create a masterpiece of a collaboration and a great working relationship with the brands and projects that she is associated with.
